Hand-Built Hardscapes, Made To Last

When I build hardscapes for my clients, I’m concerned not just with how it looks immediately after I’m finished, but how it’ll still look years down the line. Many hardscaping businesses use cheap products like plastic edge restraints and sand for leveling, which get the job done in the moment but can lead to longevity issues later on.

To me, quality is everything, so I don’t skimp on it. I use concrete edge restraints, which are stronger and more permanent than the standard plastic ones. I also build hardscapes with a fully-permeable open-grade drainage system to prevent runoff and standing water using small rocks as base material (which is less likely to be compromised by ants and weed growth than sand). I design, lay out, and construct the brick patios from scratch, cutting bricks down as needed to create an even, seamless, and great-looking surface. My hardscapes don’t just look good the day after they’re built - they’re built to last.

Paver Patios & Walkways FAQs

  • I use concrete because it’s more permanent and durable than plastic restraints. Plastic edge restraints are often used by hardscaping companies because they’re cheap to install, but they’re more susceptible to being shifted or pushed out of place over time, compromising the stability of the hardscape above them. Concrete edge restraints, however, adhere to the edges of the pavers themselves and hold them in place.

  • Yes! I can go over the different types of pavers available, help you decide how you want its shape to look, discuss adding optional borders or accents, etc.
